About Us
About SEYCo
SEYCo is a non-profit, parent-run cooperative preschool founded in 1974 by families who believed that active parent involvement is essential to a child’s early education. For more than five decades, SEYCo has been a trusted leader in early childhood education.
At SEYCo, parents of enrolled children work collaboratively to help organize and support the daily operations of the school. This unique cooperative model allows our teachers to focus fully on what matters most—nurturing each child’s learning and development.
Parent Involvement
Parents play an active and meaningful role in our community by:
- Serving on the School Board
- Visiting classrooms for special events and activities
- Participating in fundraising efforts and committees
Respect for Individuality
Honoring each child’s individuality is at the heart of our program. Our curriculum is designed to support individual differences through a rich variety of experiences, including guided and supervised play, science exploration, seasonal themes, concept development, music, dramatic play, creative art, literature, and field trips.
Educational Staff
SEYCo’s curriculum is overseen by the Director of Education, a state-certified early childhood educator who also serves on our parent-run Board of Directors.
Our classroom teams include certified early childhood teachers for our 3-year-old and Pre-K programs, group supervisors for our 2-year-old program, and dedicated paid teacher aides. Together, they create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every child.
SEYCo is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Department of Human Services.
